Read: 1 John 3:1 & Galatians 4: 4 – 7
God loves us through adopting us as His own children. We were as good as dead, held as slaves – stuck in the cycle of our sins. The rules and set of lists we tried to follow and meet to clean ourselves up for Him were too lofty. No amount of sacrifice or righteous living was enough to appease for our hearts continuously disobeying Him. Yet, He sent Jesus to redeem us so that we could be adopted and made His own. No longer slaves – but heirs of God. He has demonstrated His love through calling us His children. He knew the journey wouldn’t be easy. He knew we would run away. He knew we would turn back to the patterns of our old lives. He knew we wouldn’t have the capability to love Him with the same love He has for us – yet, He chose us and chooses us again and again.
